Dr. Jesmin Rahman is a Division Chief at the International Monetary Fund’s African Department, where she oversees the Fund’s engagement with Uganda and the East African Community. Prior to this, she served as the mission chief for Nigeria and several Eastern European countries. Jesmin has extensive policy and operational experience across emerging and developing countries and numerous publications on transition economies and export supply chains. Prior to joining the IMF, Jesmin worked in the World Bank’s Middle East region and was assistant professor of economics at American University in Washington DC. She has a PhD in economics from American University and a BA in economics and political science from Smith College.
