Dr. Ahmad Ahsan taught at Dhaka University before earning his Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University. He is currently a Director of the Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh. Previously, he was a Lead Economist at the World Bank in the Economic Management group, advising governments and leading development policy lending programs across several regions. He has authored several well-cited journal articles and book chapters on international and Bangladesh development issues.
