Farida Khan, Ph. D. PhD in Economics(1990), University of Maryland Dr. Khan serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Bangladesh Studies and is the Vice President of Bangladesh Development Initiative. Her upcoming co-edited book "Re-creating the Commons? NGOs in Bangladesh" is being published by UPL, Bangladesh. She has published on various topics related to international trade, micro-credit, NGOs, gender, and indigenous peoples in Bangladesh. She has been a reviewer for several journals including Bangladesh Development Studies, International Economic Journal, and Contemporary Economic Policy. She has worked as a consultant with the World Bank on trade policy in Bangladesh. She has chaired the Economics Department at University of Wisconsin- Parkside, where she has also directed the Center for Ethnic Studies and now co-directs the Center for International Studies. She has also chaired and served on numerous governance and other committees at her university. She is an active member of AEDSB (Association for Economic Development Studies on Bangladesh), BEN (Bangladesh Environmental Network), and IAFFE (International Association for Feminist Economics), and currently serves as Vice President of BDI. |
