Malapara Equal Education Fund

under construction

The Malapara Equal Education Fund was established in 2003, by the Sattar Family, with the leadership of the Fund's Administrator, Parhez Sattar.  The purpose of the Fund is to help provide opportunities for the disadvantaged, including girls and women from the minority groups, of the villages around Malapara, Comilla, a very economically impoverished part of Bangladesh.  The Equal Education Fund gives out yearly stipends to winners of essay and art competitions, as well as provides for special funding for projects.  Such projects include creating a Computer Laboratory (the first of its kind in any village in Comilla District) at the Malapara High School.  Future projects are targeted to include providing sewing machines to poor women who could then produce some extra income for their families and become more financially independent; providing a "renewable charity" by giving a calf who progeny would be required to be given to another recipient, etc.
