Bangladeshis living in greater Seattle area participated at the picnic. Temperature hit 90 degree F mark on a sunny humid day. However, the participants - adults and children alike - did not lack the enthusiasm to play volleyball, tug-of-war, pillow passing, and races. Delicious ethnic Bangladeshi foods were catered from Bengali Tigers Restaurant of The University District of Seattle. It was another successful picnic organized by the Bangladeshi expatriates living in Western Washington. Here are some pictures taken during the picnic.
BDI sponsored the picnic. Click here for the flyer.
Poverty alleviation is not mainstream economic development, anywhere. Domestic production of highly value-added commodities will lead to real economic emancipation of Bangladesh. Bangladesh needs machine-intensive, as opposed to, labor-intensive production method. Economic development is driven by competition everywhere - inside as well as across a national border.
